Most 2nd hand dealers sell cars that have either been traded in for a newer car or bought from an auction so although they often offer a warranty this is usually only a short limited warranty term of just 1-3 months, however they themselves can be unaware of issues with the vehicle. We quite often meet people either at a 2nd hand car dealers or at a private sellers address to do a full diagnostic health check before they commit to buying a 2nd hand car. A small cost can help save a big bill!

Our 32 Point Checks include the following
Full system diagnostic health check before and after road test
We can see when engine faults were last cleared to check no faults are being hidden from you
check the Vin numbers match what is displayed on the vehicle
Check the registration matches the DVLA registered manufacture date
Check the MOT status of the vehicle
Check previous MOT Pass, Fails and advisories
Previous MOT mileages to check the vehicle has genuine mileage
Check the road tax band and let you know what the cost will be
Vehicle valuation - Check you are not being over charged
Advise on what to look for during a road test
we are happy to wait while you take the car for a road test then do another diagnostic health check when you get back to check no other faults have occurred
Multiple visual inspections including brakes, fluids, exhaust, suspension and tyres
We don't negotiate the price for you but we can give our recommendation of what you should pay for the vehicle based on industry book prices, diagnostic results and a visual inspection of the vehicle
We can email you a full report on the vehicle to add to the service records if you decide to buy it.
This is a on the day basis health check only and does not guarantee against future breakdown or MOT failure, industry book prices change regularly so the price we give you cannot be guaranteed, it is only valid on the day we inspect the vehicle. our checks are only basic electronic and visual checks and are our own personal opinions which we cannot guarantee against MOT or component failure, Full system diagnostic health check is only guaranteed on the day of the health check, we are unable to guarantee a fault won't occur once the vehicle has been purchased and driven, we cannot get involved in any future warranty claims unless the seller has specifically asked us to in writing on the basis of checking what is wrong with the car to save the buyer returning it to the seller, this will be at the buyers expense which they will need to claim back from the seller and must be paid at the time of the diagnostic check. If a fault has occurred we will check what the fault is and report the findings and recommended repair to both the buyer and seller but we cannot get involved with who is to blame between the buyer and seller. This is not an MOT and does not guarantee the vehicle is legally road worthy and will pass an MOT, only an authorised MOT test centre can do that. All visual checks are done on the ground without the use of a ramp so are limited to what can be seen.
